Derbyshire Clocks

We regret to inform any past customers of Derbyshire Clocks that Mr Terry Lees Died 9-30am on 27th November 2017 at Manchester Royal Infirmary, he will be forever remembered and sorely missed.

We would However like to inform you that Mrs Lees has now decided to re-open Heirloom shop on the
23rd September 2023 and at the same premises as previously, on High Street West Glossop, it goes without saying that the shop is much smaller than it used to be, but manageable for Judy, and houses many fine items similar to what she used to have.

Terry and Judy Lees, past members of the Glossop/Bad Villbel twinning association, had been proprietors of both Derbyshire Clocks and Heirloom shop's, High Street West, and served Glossop, Derbyshire, for the best part of 40 + years, both their shops being under one roof, and was like stepping back in time.

Terry, always had a wonderful array of antique clocks some of which are in the Inventory (left), many of which are now listed now as sold, having been purchased from all over the country and sold likewise, these varied from small mantle clocks to Long case (Grand Father) clocks to suite the most discerning customer and collectors alike, who have a similar liking for antiquity and beauty.

Quality antique clocks can also very often speak volumes for their heritage, they are an interesting part of our history and a great talking piece.

In Judy's Heirloom shop, there were many choices for the whole family both young and old alike, and to suite most pockets, lamps galore of various forms and so many gift options for both men and women whether it was for a Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas or just to make a warmer difference within the home.

Some items that Terry and Judy had for sale within the shops, can be seen here in the pictures on this page and in the gallery, as you can see there really was a fine assortment to choose from, scent bottles to ornaments, vases and furniture to pictures galore, even one or two old fashioned yet quality games, beautifully made from wood or marble.

I think we can speak on behalf of the residents of Glossop, in saying that we shall miss their shops greatly, they really are the likes of which we doubt we shall never see again certainly in Glossop, we shall also miss their humour, hospitality and generosity a great deal, it really was like stepping back in time.
