William Wray Walnut Inlaid Drop dial Wall Clock (Circa 1885)

   A walnut drop dial clock, with a 12" (305mm) dial, the case which is inlaid with box wood, green and purple heart inlay floral patterns and has a flower shaped bezel surround above leaf carved ears, to each side of the visible pendulum trunk with a single scroll at the base returning towards the rear of the clock.

   The wooden glazed door with which to view the pendulum has an ornate carved and fretwork leaf and scroll design, behind the glass.

   A glass door to the dial has a polished brass bezel surround which encloses the hand painted dial, signed Wm Wray (market place) Brigg, with geometric design moon style, blued steel hands which are powered by an 8-day spring driven movement, striking the hours on a bell.
