Bracket Clock by J Anderton
J Anderton Huddersfield, Mahogany Bracket Clock, (Circa 1825/30).
A fine solid and veneered Mahogany case with brass ball feet.
This case, has brass inlaid corner angles with quarter brass framed mahogany veneer, inset recessed panels, surrounding the dished, glazed brass bezel and dial, with a central pineapple finial on the chamfered top.
Brass leaf and grape paterae and ring carrying handles are to each side of the case with fish scale brass frets below.
The eight day, bell striking double fusee movement has 4 turned pillars, heavy plates with an anchor escapement and a pull repeat facility to the rear of the 8"(203mm) enamel white dial, which has roman numerals and minute markings with original hands and is signed Anderton Huddersfield.
The above Bracket clock has been sympathetically restored and carries a 12 month guarantee.
