H Philipson Ulverston (Circa 1830) 30 Hr Oak/Mahogany Crossbanded (Gillows Style) longcase clock
An extremely attractive 12” hand painted dial, 30hr longcase clock made of oak, cross banded in mahogany.
The hood with its cavetto style cornice encases the dial and movement which is framed by two tulip and beaded shaped, Gillows style pillars.
An excellent oak trunk case also has two turned quarter pillars running along side an arched cross banded door, this all sits on a razor edged base with the panel also being mahogany cross banded through to a mould with bracket style shaped feet.
The 30hr movement with calendar aperture below centre, strikes the hours on a bell, with blued steal hands showing the time and on the dial above centre and signed "H Philipson Ulverston", with painted flower foliage spandrels to the corners.
The above longcase clock has been fully restored and carries a 12 month guarantee.
