Richard Foster of Cosham, (Circa 1900)

    A beautiful red walnut, London design case, the cabinet showing typical high quality London case features with outstanding colour and patination, fretwork side panels to the hood and finished with 3 brass ball and spike finials, also cast brass acanthus capitals and reeded pillars to the hood trunk and also unusually, the base.

   The 12" gilded arch dial with silvered chapter ring, complete with Roman numerals and small Arabic outer, has four seasons spandrels applied to the corners and a decorative engraved centre, with beautiful ornately cut, blued steel hands.

   A long, break arched, top glazed trunk door reveals a pair of brass cased weights and pendulum.

   The eight day movement which is chain driven is wound manually from inside the case, chiming the quarters and hours on steel gongs,

   This high quality restored clock, (Circa 1900), is signed by the retailers on the boss in the arch, "Richard Foster of Cosham."

   This longcase clock has been fully restored and carries a 12 month guarantee.
