Wall Regulator Clock by Arnold and Lewis
Arnold & Lewis Regulator (Circa 1871)
A fine quality ebony cased wall regulator, by Arnold & Lewis Manchester.
This quality regulator has a 9" round painted dial, with blued steel hands and fine counter balanced centre seconds pointer.
The movement is a chain driven, fusee movement to going and strike train, chiming softly on a steel coiled gong, which is driven by a 7" domed brass pendulum bob, suspended on a steel gridiron rod.
All encased in an ebonised case with full length partially glazed top and bottom of door and ornately cut and fretted panels, to top sides of case.
Arnold & Lewis, working at their shop at 7 St Anne's Square from 1871 to 1888, are well documented in several publications for their Chronometers and Turret clocks.
