Restoration Services

Most items of Furniture that pass through our lives, do so very often with very little thought about how old it is, who made it, or where it came from and as most antique items of furniture above 70 years old, they were more often than not hand made, apart from some utility furniture, the real quality came about just before and during the Victorian period, it's no wonder therefore that restoration to some items is not only inevitable but very often necessary.

Furniture dates back from time immemorial and although not many today would care to live in those times, myself included, it cannot be denied that some household furniture, clocks and other items that still exists today, is a testament of their quality and craftsmanship and just one of the many reasons why I enjoy the restoration work that I do so much, in being able to bring some of these items back to life.

I admit, that I'm not well versed in furniture dates etc, but to me it's not only the method of manufacture, but the elegance and beauty of some of these items that I enjoy, like the wine cooler bottom of the Home Page, the polyphon above and the clocks of course some of which are listed in the Inventory on the left.

These items have quality and speak volumes for themselves and are what set most of them apart from the modern furniture of today, it is these Items that need the restoration in a variety of ways in order to put some life back into them to preserve and keep them if you like for posterity, when all said and done we are only guardians to these items for a short time.

The Restoration Services, that we can offer you the customer, whether it be from stripping and re - French Polishing an item completely, sympathetic restoration or just to manufacturing a single finial, there will be attention to detail, and an honest interpretation of the work that will be required.
