The Fusilier Museum, known as Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, Bury.

It was a lengthy job overall, but nonetheless extremely satisfying in the end, the mahogany panelling in the main conference room ever since it's initial creation was still outstanding in its beauty and workmanship.

As you can see from the centre panel (below) it had been left for many years, totally untouched and neglected, but after the restoration it came back to life as if it was made yesterday.

Credit really has to be given to the tradesmen who made this in the beginning, not only for their workmanship but also for the materials they used and providing it is looked after, it will still be here for many more years to come.

Originally, this building  was the Arts and Crafts college in Bury, and these carvings with the gargoyle and dragon like serpents, scrolls, leaves, dentaling and the crest of the Bury Borough Council are a credit to the person(s) who originally carried out the work, it still amazes me who it was that brought about the designs and drew it all up in the first place.

Another of their consummate talents and where they seemed to excel is that all the carvings seemed to be so balanced and just right.

I'll leave you to it from here and let you peruse the following pictures in the gallery below, which I think speak for themselves.
