F Armardio & Son 118 St John Street Road, London (Circa 1825/30).
An impressive 10"(254mm) Diameter, Silvered Dial, Mahogany veneered, wheel barometer.
A decorative swan neck is at the top of the barometer and is enhanced further by the polished flame mahogany shaped case, complete with ebony stringing.
The four instruments are as follows, at the top is a standard hygrometer with a silver dial and glass cover, encased in a brass bezel, below which is a silver dial with alcohol thermometer in its own case with a small rounded relief mold on the top edge set into the main case, registering with a Fahrenheit gauge only, the silver scale is engraved in Old English script and fixed in position with a traditional hidden clip and brass button below.
The silvered dial on the barometer is engraved in the centre with an atlas, supported by a swags and leaves pattern, this is signed above the centre, F Armardio & Son, and below with the address of 118 St John Strt Road, London complete with a blued steel registering hand and brass marker.
The barometer scale is given in inches of mercury, which registers 28 to 31, each section is then gauged in tenth segments, all of which is beneath a convex glass, complete with a polished brass bezel surround, and a turned bone button register below which controls the brass marker.
At the base is the spirit level with silver dial, and is engraved with garlands and flowers above and below the alcohol phial, which is beneath a glass front and brass bezel surround.
All the above three brass bezels, have a matching twisted rope design to and around the edges, see gallery below.
This barometer has been fully restored, in perfect working order and carries a 12 month guarantee.
